Injectable Fillers
These products fall into categories of temporary, semi-permanent, and permanent augmentation. Our staff members are expert sources to offer multiple options in each category, which assures individualized treatment plans based on severity, skin type, duration, and location requiring correction.
Hyaluronic acids includes a variety of smooth biocompatible gels like Restylane, Hylaform Plus, Juvederm and Perlane. All are available in different viscosities, and all provide immediate, lasting, natural results. The most common applications for these products include congenitally thin or aging lips, superficial facial wrinkles or scars, or deeper facial folds such as those along the nose and mouth.
In addition to these nasolabial and melolabial lines, other innovative sites restore volume and fullness to glabellar frown lines, acne and/or surgical scars, and to the corners of an aging, down turned mouth. Typically these products offer about six months of smooth natural correction with little or no down time. Recent studies also indicate that wrinkle correction is prolonged when used in conjunction with Botox Cosmetic, and that repeated use may induce more permanent collagen replacement.
Semipermanent injectables include Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) and Sculptra (polylactic acid). Our office features Radiesse, as it has proven to be superior to Sculptra in ease of use, volume restoration, duration, and single treatment results.
Radiesse consists of tiny calcium based microspheres to form a scaffold that supports and stimulates the growth of your own collagen. Like the hyaluronic acid products, it offers immediate results following simple and safe skin injection. Because of it’s composition, it is placed slightly deeper, however, and induces less initial swelling. Plus, it lasts for an average of twelve to fourteen months before absorption by our natural body’s enzymes. However it is best suited for deeper folds, and therefore is not indicated for fine superficial wrinkles or lip augmentation.
The most common augmentation is placement in the comma like folds that form from the nose to the mouth and chin over time. Radiesse creates long lasting facial volume restoration, introducing additional applications such as non surgical rhinoplasty, cheek and chin augmentation, prejowl placement to simulate a clean facelifted jawline, or youthful correction of the hollows around the eye socket.
