Transblepharoplasty Midface Lift
The midface includes the lower eyelids, orbital rim, cheek, and nasolabial fold. Often times, patients develop troughs and hollows between and within these regions as the cheek soft tissue descends. These shadows, coupled with the volume loss described above with facelifting, are some of the earliest manifestations of aging. Patients who show little to no jowling or neck skin aging, but a deflated and hanging appearance to the midface, are excellent candidates for a midface lift. Done through an incision hidden just under the lower eyelid lashes, a midface lift begins by repositioning excess fat of the lower eyelid (lower eyelid blepharoplasty). The soft tissue of the cheek is then mobilized and repositioned to it's original position. This permanently reestablishes the smooth, full, uninterrupted midface contours of youth.
